i mean if they don’t neuter people to reduce cancer causes, why do it to cats. unless the cancer chance reduction for neutering is real significant.

i find the spaying/neutering cancer reduction reason kinda rhetorical. some people talk like spaying/neutering would be like a life saver for the cat. here is the loophole, i beleive that any organ or part of the body has the chance of having cancer form in it. assuming that is true, i fail to see how significant spaying/netering is in reducing cancer risk when there are like a dozen other organs that have cancer risk as well.
taking away a cat’s sexuality is kinda cruel it they like sex or something.
i agree with spaying and all to prevent unwanted babies. here is my alternate, see if you guys agree. if you just have the vet take away the uteres but keep the ovaries, then the female would still be able to have sex but won’t get pregnant, right, like a human hysteretomy.
No interest in sex because cats are not humans, in fact sex can be very painful for the female cat, so unless its a kinky, masochistic kitty, it won’t miss a thing!

None of my queens went into heat after spaying. If they ain’t in heat, no tom is gonna bother with them.

Your cat will be happier, healthier and live a much longer life if you get her neutered. Also there are just millions of homeless unwanted kittens being born every day that end up getting killed or put to sleep and it is a crime against animals to not neuter them.

Males if the have matted before being fixed might try to hump a female in heat because he remember what they did before, how ever if either cat is dominant they may hump after being fixed but its not about sex.
We get out cats spayed because we don’t want any chance of them getting pregnant. We don’t have the time or energy to watch a whole litter of new kittens. Plus there are so any abandon animals out there. Yes males cats go crazy spraying everything in the house, that’s why we get our male cat fixed. No out cats who are fixed are not interested in sex really.

Question 1: No. Your cat will have zero interest in mating after spaying.
Question 2: Absolutely, if a human has an organ that is susceptiple to cancer, removing the organ removes his/her risk of cancer in that organ. That is why when humans get cancer, even with chemo and radiation, the only sure way to keep a cancer in remission from returning is to remove the organ – prostates are removed with prostate cancer, a breast (mastectomy) would be removed with breast cancer, ovaries are removed with ovarian cancer, a lung would be removed with lung cancer. Of course, you don’t remove organs in human to prevent these things, but with a pet, you are prolonging their life and reducing the risk of unwanted, homeless offspring.
Question 3: An un-neutered male cat is something you’d rather not be around. They are aggressive, they spray urine to mark their territories, and they can be very unfriendly. If you’d ever been on a dairy farm, you will notice this behavior in the barn cats. The females are happy as can be in heat or with their litters and such, and the males are nasty, fighting, or staying the heck away from any kind of human affection.
Question 4: No unaltered male is going to have any interest in your spayed female because she will never go into heat. If a male even approached her to mate, she’d probably rip him to shreds!
