cat is moaning and rolling around the floor?

Our 8 month old female cat is moaning and rolling on the floor and cuddling up to the wall and dragging herself along the floor. She is not fixed yet. Her moans get louder at times. We gave her some cat nip to calm her down but that didn’t really help. Her moans aren’t that loud but there are a few random ones that are. We will probaby take her to the vet, so don’t list this as an answer. Has this happened to anyone else? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Yeah, yeah, yeah; heat cycle. Get ‘er laid or get ‘er spayed. Yadda yadda.
Did you give her painkiller? I recall Tom Sawyer’s cat having that kind of a reaction to the stuff.
Seriously though, she’s probably just in heat.

No, it hasn’t happened to me because I had both of my cats fixed when they were 6 months old. Your cat is in heat. Catnip won’t help, but a trip to the vet to have her spayed would.
She is in heat,keep her away from male cats.or you will have kittens.She needs to be spayed but the vet cant do that until she is out of heat.There is nothing you can do for her and believe me she is feeling know pain.
In heat – get her fixed asap and make sure she isn’t around males!
She is in heat. Do not let her outside otherwise the entire toms will be knocking on your backdoor. She will need to be speyed and this will solve this problem!
She’s probably in heat because of the moaning. Keep her away from male cats unless you want kittens. If you don’t want kittens, take her to get spayed.
She’s in heat, taking her to the vet to be spayed will stop it. Females cats in heat can be extremely annoying, loud and generally a pain. Some are very very vocal and animated (as yours seems to be) while others aren’t quite so silly about it. Cat nip won’t do anything for a cat in heat.
